What are your emotions?

I've been experiencing relief.

Explain what's been happening in the Ashes to get you all hot 'n' bothered germ, I know nothing about it

On the first day england won the toss and elected to bat (probably a good decision as the pitch is very dry) but then promptly indulged in a good old English Batting Collapse, making only 215. Cue the aussies getting off to an even worse start, losing 4 wickets before the close of play.

On day two it looks like we've got the aussies beat, with 5 wickets falling for only 9 runs. They're on 117 for 9. I'm laughing. They're dead and buried. Then comes in their number 11, 19-year-old debutante Ashton Agar (above) who pummels us, scores 98 and breaks every record imaginable (highest-scoring number 11 ever, highest 10th wicket stand ever etc). When we finally get him out they have 280. That's 163 put on for the last wicket.

Then we lost 2 wickets early on.. but Cook and Pietersen seemed to be playing well. Until this morning when they get out and now we're 160-odd for 4, and ideally want to be batting all day and score 300+ to have any chance of winning...

it's sanitary and I don't cook but at my jobs I serve quite a bit of food and it's a pain making sure i never hand someone a sandwich or drink or espresso with my nasty finger staring them down

hope you're not responding to her. my ex still gets at me via fb/text/email sometimes but i haven't responded to her in months. dont think its possible to get over people but its sure as hell possible to get on with life

Yeah I'm going to have to put her on a fade out I think. Miss her a lot but it wouldn't work and I need to stand by that. Just always a shock when you see some names in your in box

Yeah man, I'm hardly a relationship expert but it's always hard to think of this person you were so close with suddenly being extracted from your life. I don't know how to deal with it and I don't know what's appropriate and I know some people manage to cut others out entirely but I don't understand anything. I think if you're able to partition yourself from your romantic feelings, do it and see how the friendship goes with the caveat of abandoning it. But I don't know, I'm also a fan of saying 'Dude, please don't message me anymore. It really sucks. TY!'

Just bought tickets for Fuck Buttons and My Bloody Valentine!

Fuck Buttons were so good live 4-5 years ago, looking forward to seeing them again.

i'm seeing fuck buttons too, in september. glad to see that the haxan cloak is supporting whom i saw last year supporting liars, he was incredible. i'm giving blood that afternoon though so i will probably get super euphoric and pass out. also got tickets later this year for oneohtrix point never, mount kimbie and godspeed (again)

No idea who's supporting either band in belgium, would like to see the haxan cloak.

damn that sucks.. i saw fucked up with titus andronicus and metz earlier this year; it was probably the best gig i've ever been to. i was going for titus so i'd never listened to fucked up beforehand. at the end the singer from fucked up was at the bar signing posters etc and he gave my friend his shoes!

Not been going to concerts for a long time now and it's harshing my mellow, trying to fix that.

i try to go to as many as i can. however recently it seems as if none of the bands i really want to see are touring, though i'm never sure how good last.fm is at telling me about upcoming gigs.

i'm tempted to buy tickets for one or more of: Tim Hecker, RM Hubbert, Pantha du Prince and These New Puritans - what do you think?

Saw Tim Hecker in a joint performance with Daniel Lopatin a little while back, loved it. Stood in a dark room letting the ambient noise fill me. Not as strong as his solo work but really captivating.

Not heard of the rest though!

Yo I saw Haxan Cloak supporting liars too. Was awesome. Way better than the Liars imo.

going to see Mountain Goats in October. Not been to a gig in ages but never really liked them much anyway.

I miss the united states but know i will miss europe when i'm home. this is always how i feel.

I saw Mount Kimbie and it was incredible, but you can probably see them or other groups like them more often in London. Hecker would be so sweet and I don't know how often he's out and about. But MBV would be like, a life changing experience...

I live near enough to london to go for a gig but not near enough to go for many gigs.

How do people feel about live music? I feel like it's overrated for a lot of acts and attendance is more heraldic than an actual leisure activity. There's certainly acts and people that this isn't true for.

I thought the Haxan Cloak gig I went to was one of the best things I'd ever seen live. I do check out about one classical concert per month too.
