We talked about race in my film class today. To think that there are some people who believe that racism isn't pretty prevelant in america is unbelievable

on the topic of race and racism, I listened to with Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, author of Americanah. pardon my ignorance but I was fascinated that she, as a Nigerian, didn't identify herself in relation to the color of her skin when she first came to the United States and she had to "learn what it means to be black in America." I guess that just makes it even more obvious how privileged I am.
