Anybody noticed that the closer you get to bethnal green, the more real life resembles the internet? Like people wear internet clothes, go to internet places, you start seeing celebrities that you've only ever seen on the internet. It's really strange. The discarded fried chicken bones on the street, lucent under the neon lights, look like some cult ezine editorial shot inspired by julia kristeva's notion of the abject. And the reverse is true of course. The further away you go from bethnal green, the less real life resembles the internet. Until if you get past queensway, you have to actually say to people things like "Have you heard of Nasir Mazhar?" "Do you know who Flowdan is?"
