World War Z is okay. People were pissed that it's not like the book but it'd be pretty impossible to have a blockbuster movie be based around a lengthy set of interviews or something. The movie also totally switches tone about 2/3 of the way through because they had to do a bunch of reshoots. I read a synopsis of the original ending and it's hilarious to think that anyone thought it would have been a good idea to end the movie that way, much less film and screen it.

Pacific Rim is fun if you want to turn your brain off for two hours and watch giant robots fight monsters.

i thought the last fight was kinda lackluster considering the hong kong one.

Saw Submarine this weekend. A really charming and hilarious film, we loved it.

More films need to be set in Wales.

Last film I saw was Aguirre the Wrath Of God. Not seen any Herzog before but I liked it.

i watched pacific rim again with my dad and was as happy with it as the first time. production is so stunning and its credit to the movie making that they manage to keep the stakes so high from start to finish. “Haven’t you heard the world is coming to an end? So where would you rather die? Here or in a Jaeger?”

I watched Wong Kar Wai's 'The Grandmaster'

I didn't know much about this movie but had pretty high expectations going in. i'm sure have seen Ip Man, this is the same character but told truer to history and done w a real love of classic hong kong kungfu. the film is visually gorgeous and really poignant but it wanders all over the place and i walked out a little dazed.

I am in the middle of Life of Pi

enjoying the story as much as i did with the book, but the visuals are so impressive. in that sense it reminds me of the fountain

haven't seen any of those

last film i saw was Rear Window (simply masterful), and before that Jiro Dreams of Sushi (good but maybe a few too many preparation montages set to stirring music, and it only very briefly touched on overfishing etc)

Life of Pi was a pleasant surprise after loving the book so much.

Just introduced my girlfriend to the Coen Brothers, so that's happening.

Fall is going to be good for films. Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Inside Llewyn Davis, Rush, etc. etc.

wat is that? some bromance comedy? ^

I haven't followed or liked any movies in the theaters, except watching the typical superman/batman marvel flicks with the younger cousins...

I kinda want to watch this tho http://inequalityforall.com/

Ahhh is that the new Miyazaki Film?

I want to see that so bad. That stylized depiction of war in the trailer is so good.

That was one of just a few movies I can think of where seeing it in 3D was totally worth it. Can't wait for the sequel.

I grew up with Tintin and love the comic albums, but I can't stand Spielberg/Jacksons movie.

plus one for gravity. First thirteen minutes certainly lived up to the hype. I was gripping my seat for almost the whole movie. quite a ride.

place beyond the pines was good. really threw me for a loop though. and not really like the trailers. I like when a movie does that though.

don jon was entertaining. JGL was very jacked.

watched pacific rim the other day, exactly what it says on the tin, great film. only improvement would have been just an hour and a half of robots fighting aliens without any context. would have been perfection.
