so frozen synapse prime just came out and i'm a little nostalgic about it right now. if you've never heard of it, frozen synapse was kind of a simultaneous turn-based game. basically, how it works is that both you and your opponent both start out with a certain number of units and then you take your turns simultaenously in 5-second increments. you have unlimited time to give your commands on how your units will move and react in the next 5 seconds. those 5 seconds play out and you see what happens, and then rinse and repeat.

really fun little game, and you could play multiple games at once, since you could set your actions, leave that game, set actions for a second, third, fourth game, and they'd all play out over time as your opponent set their turns at their convenience. sometimes i had up to 8 games going at once.

also, it had a built-in youtube uploader back in 2011, way ahead of its time, very fitting with its futuristic, uplink-esque aesthetic. anyways, if anyone has it and wants to play, either the original or prime, lemme know.

Prime seemed a bit not worth it to me though. The new visuals look wack.

agree on not loving the new visuals, really liked the original aesthetic. still curious though, about whats different. it kinda looks like you can have team battles, which would be neat.

Playing Golden Sun: Lost Age atm and its still awesome. If you haven't played any of them yet and you're a fan of JRPG style games I'd suggest giving the series a try.

I miss World of Warcraft. She is the one who got away, but I'm not sure I can devote the time again.

I've been playing TERA online instead. It's an okay MMORPG with an okay community.

Had a Foe Reaper 8000 (won me about 2 games) and a good number of consecrates/truesilvers. Decent draft but nothing nauseating. One hilarious win with an early Worgen-Enrage-Blessing of Kings combo.

Can't seem to get past 3-4 wins, any tips?

So, Bioshock is 2scary4me. I feel like I should just muscle through it, because aesthetically and philosophically it has things I'm interested to see, but I've tried to start it twice now and it's really uncomfortable. I guess I'm just not much of a heavyweight. Are the other games in the series a little brighter or less claustrophobic?

Bioshock Infinite is literally set in a city above the clouds so is definitely brighter and more claustrophobic. The combat is better too.

OG bioshock still feels like the better setting in my mind though.

i'd like to start playing Hearthstone since WOTC can't seem to make a decent magic client but I dont know what to expect in terms of cost - is it like dota or whatever where money you spend doesn't actually affect the game or do you have to pump in $10 every time you want to draft? Can I have a good game experience paying $0 exactly?

You can have a fine experience without paying. I've yet to pay, though I've been playing for about a year and just finally getting to the point where I feel good about my collection.

The one issue is that you will take a long time to reach a lot of ingame gold (usually ~50 gold a day when 100 per pack and 150 per arena run). Would recommend reading through to get some good basics.
