really? compared to Polaris as far as original designs go this is way better.

nearly every winter season has been the same for the last 2 years with a different theme (strong top layer/sweatergilletbag with a trouser and shoe) but i have to say the way he's done this is great. the life raft jackets, the remade bags, shark bags, jackets that are inflatable rafts and the parachute bag (finally!). prints are also better applied with the circling shark motif really lending itself to the knits as well as the expansion into digital printing building on the addition of knitwear from last season. i would say however the peacoat although fitting with the idea of men stranded at sea could have a bit more wow in styling and design, those 3 in a row are a little lack luster in a runway setting.

wont compare to his ss though as they seem to have totally different styles in the way they're presented on the runway, or built as a collection (they're also funner). but in terms of a/w this shows definite progression from Polaris and optics. definitely a evolution opposed to a revolution.

trousers look a bit crap, inflatable "down" jackets/vests are neat in concept but I don't really think they're particularly well executed, shark stuff is nice, the shearling trucker is a really weird thing for him to make, this one is so bland I'd never thought I'd see something like it from him:



some of the more traditional vests look good but not super special, and that parka in the 1st one is excellent. but overall just not exciting

gonna go out on a limb and suggest you can see the influence of his work with moncler all over this collection
