Pardon my ignorance but why is it only women's wear getting posted? Is the men's boring or is it not shown at these shows?

Menswear already showed back in June, this is just womenswear. I don't know why the timing is so weird.

autumn 14 is almost upon us!
Anyone is welcome to post here, and i encourage people to post the collections they like and share their opinions. however some rules:
- for ease of searching please use the thread title format "[Brand] [Men's/Women's] (if applicable) [Season/SeasonYearYear]" e.g. "Christopher Kane Men's F/W14"
- if possible please wait for high-res images (wwd and style.com are usually the best ime, but they don't cover all the shows)
- please rehost images to imgur or equivalent (skns where is that helpful image?)
- please check whether the show has been posted elsewhere (e.g. in the brand's relevant thread) first, as it seems a bit redundant to have more than one conversation on the go

excited for all the NEWGEN MEN kids, especially ASTRID ANDERSEN, NASIR MAZHAR, and SHAUN SAMSON. Also have high hope for JOSEPH TURVEY. My girl Astrid is coming out the gate first and looks to be a strong start.

Got to take a look at ChloƩ f/w14, not a fan of the shoes but some other pieces were quite interesting. It's in the continuity of S/S14

Weird. I know he's doing wrestlers or something and dazed posted something but I can't find him anywhere. Some people aren't doing runways shows like Joseph turvey but shaun samson is a big enough deal that he should have one. Maybe he's doing it separate from lc:m?

Is Balenciaga not doing a show or are they doing NYC?

Balenciaga was yesterday--http://nowfashion.com/balenciaga-menswear-fall-winter-2014-paris-6099
except maybe in very, very rare occasions (none come to mind), houses/designers won't "regress" from paris fashion week to new york fashion week. NYFW is like the little leagues. showing at PFW is either by achievement or tradition.

Yeah, that was my main reason for questioning. Didn't see it on the schedule but I saw the post on /r/MF. Tytyty :D I also saw I think prefall showed at NYC so that's why I was wondering.

http://www.businessoffashion.com/2014/0 ... eason.htmlcan't believe how orthogonal my tastes are relative to these people. sure, i loved raf ruby but i don't think it was the best show - the article feels flat and i can't tell if that's the interviewees blowing this off or if they're really this (mostly) superficial.

I thought it was the strongest collection. The detail shots of the various jackets made me fall in love. Like, I would strongly consider saving my money and getting one of them. But I mean, those people thought SLP was really good. I tend to disregard most fashion writing in media like that because it rarely presents cogent arguments for why something is good. People aren't critical or when they are, they're catty, etc. I didn't read it so I can't comment to that one specifically but I really hate reviews and most of 'normal' media's perspective. I also don't like how most bloggers mimic the worst parts of mainstream fashion writing and sometimes and sometimes it carries over to forums, but I give a lot more weight to what people on SZ/SuFu and such say about shit even if I disagree with them. At least there's a somewhat similar approach to reading shows and taste.
