I know very little about Shannon so perhaps I'm way off-base with this, but this show reminds me an awful lot of Raf. Even the plastic bags.

article somewhere, think it's man about town where he talks about how him and all his peers were graduating at the time raf was doing god things. he shifted his look in aw14 quite dramatically and the raf parallels were noted in the colours and such, last season was much of the same. it looks like shannon but it's clear to see who he has in his mind.
