Along with JW Anderson, Lemaire is fast becoming one of my favourite designers to watch. This is the best collection I've seen in the fashion weeks so far - it resonates with me very strongly and feels really fresh. Almost every look has something distinct to say (unlike other shows NOTNAMINGNAMESCALVINKLEIN) where the same look gets repeated over and over and despite the simplicity and austerity of the pieces on display there are so many details to feast on. The cuts are loungey and slouchy without being dramatically oversized (for the most part), artful pooling is out in full force, there's a whiff of sleaze without focusing on it, the colour palettes are beautiful and it all excites me terribly.
Also this could be a STORY MFG lookbook shot

yeah they both mine that '80s issey miyake, east-meets-west, eggman territory but the lemaire man lays his persian rug on whitewashed floorboards rather than polished concrete

Went to pick out a few highlights and found myself decided that almost all of them are highlights.
That db jacket with the very low button stance is really something though

Coincidentally I just skimmed his entire archive trying to search for a particular garment. I don't think Spring/Summer is his forté. Or maybe it goes to show how bland his works can be when separated into individual pieces. Don't get me wrong, I love the cuts, and I'm sure the fabric is luxurious, but I feel like I can attach someone else's name to this collection, and I'm certainly not excited enough to be jumping out of my chair for this.
