Hey, first post here. I was looking on ebay one morning and I saw some new listings with crappy photos of three Yohji pants and a really low buy it now price so a took a risk on one of them. They are awesome. Its from SS05 YYPH and made with a cupro/linen fabric that both shiny and slubby.

And as a bonus: I'm thinking of flipping this early (I think late 80's/early 90's) pleated Miyake shirt but I'll wear it while I still have it.

Haruki: nice pants. The pairing of it with that shirt makes it feel very accessible while at the same time distinctly yohji.

Syek: it just feels very "bankerly" for lack of a better word. I've never been much of a fan of printed ties like that.

yes. I'm torn about it. I like having it shorter because I don't have to do much with the sides but now I feel like my hair is at too much of an angle going up my head and it makes my head mushroom shaped but that's probably one of those things I only notice and then blow out of proportion.

Thanks everyone.

teck, I wouldn't limit yourself to just yohji when it comes to the oversized silhouette. Yohji seems to have quite the cult following so Ebay prices are a bit inflated but I would look at Miyake and CDGH+ too. Although Kawakubo's current collections are much slimmer, Comme's pre 2005 collections tend to be cut much looser and they are also quite neglected on ebay. I've been looking at these awesome wool (not cupro as the seller says) pants for the last couple of months and it looks like someone has finally decided to bid on them and it's ending in a day. Image
Miyake tend to have more people willing to buy the older stuff but there are still great pieces that pop up without any bidders. And the good thing with miyake is that a lot of the 80's and 90's womans jackets are so oversized that they are practically unisex. This jacket has also lasted a few months and is at $70 now Image
Also look in the woman's section. There are quite a few mislabeled pieces for yohji, comme and miyake. I've seen a few main line woman's Comme pieces that have been labled as men's and have failed to sell for peanuts so I'm sure it's the same with men's stuff in the woman's section. But if you are set with yohji, dont worry about sizing too much. The pants I got are a size 4 which are 2 sizes too big for me. But any of the drawstring trousers can be drawn in and while I may have my pants shortened, rolling them up (or im using the drawstrings at leg openings to shorten my pants) is also fine.

thanks bels (love)

i was gonna make a noragi after frustration with visvim's prices and losing an ebay auction on a really nice vintage one because i wasn't logged in, but i couldn't find good fabric. (keepin' an eye out with the vintage ones though!) i leave for school in two weeks as well so all i've got going is turning my polka dot 'qlo shirt into a button-down collar.

i'll probably get back into knitting in a couple months tho.
