No, unfortunately. The worrying thing is that no one left the garage door open. They would have had to go into our back yard and through the back entrance of the garage to get to the bikes.

Agreed, I wonder how the person found out we had the bikes. You can barely see them through the windows in the garage door and not at all from the back door. They only stole the bikes and only the most expensive two. I'm quite angry that my bike that I rode ragbrai on was stolen, I have a bit of a sentimental attachment to it. And my dad's carbon fiber racing bike was stolen too.

2. might be worth checking on craigslist to see if they list them for sale (though if the person knows you/is smart enough to find the bikes, they are probably not dumb enough to put them up on CL).

Report them to the police as well if you haven't already. Also worth checking the pinkbike buy and sell for them, if they know anything about bikes that's where they'd use.

this seems completely trivial compared to bike thefts and crying women, but I completely loaded my car to the brim with a broken down bed, bookshelf, coffee table, juicer, coffee machine (I don't even drink coffee!) hand mixer, ~20 shoes, two giant boxes of clothing, a giant box of toiletries, a giant box of makeup/odds and ends, and a medium sized box of cups, and drove half an hour across the city to my new apartment. got here around four. turns out the leasing office gave me one key for an apartment with four locks, so we had to call a locksmith. it is now 7:39 and the locksmith just arrived. I have not eaten anything except for a bit of pavlova around 10AM, and I am meant to go out to an early birthday dinner with my friend and her parents, but she is not picking up her phone. I also have to be out of the parking spot my packed car is in by 9PM.

i am mildly distressed.

I don't mean to monopolize, but i can't find the edit button. things turned out kind of cutely. the apartment manager felt bad and tried to give me pizza and water; she is very sweet. the locksmith arrived and was this young Israeli sacha baron cohen looking fellow with a phone full of pictures from when he lived in brazil. he suggested i stand on one side of the fence and he pass me the stuff in my car, and thusly we emptied my car in five minutes. would've taken me at least half an hour by myself. got the lock situation all sorted out. friend finally picked up her phone, and i'm now en route to all you can eat korean bbq with her family.

all is well.

i think it's pretty decent; it's not in the greatest of areas but the apartment itself is pretty clean and new-looking. maybe i'll post pics once i'm done moving in; i'm sending germy a video tour lol

Our flag football team didn't win the game last night but I got two sacks and caught an interception. Lowest grade is an 84 right now and I haven't puked once since I got here so I think I have a handle on things.
