I think that part of the reason Fed still does well (he's amazing don't get me wrong) but I think that everyone in the stadium wants him to win, even his opponents. They're awed to be playing the fedex. That's my TENNIS THEORY.

cowboy can you fly over and have a hit w/me tonite its like 21 degs and still

Maybe I should join care share and fly over to play tennis with you

My tennis theory about fed is he's so attractive(!) and graceful that he stuns the opponents simply through looks.

Beat Dan 6-3. nearly won to love in the final game but still took it with two game points to spare.

I finally joined the main tennis club in town.

I'm sure I do too, but some people have some weird ass serves.

It's really nice outside but I don't have my racquet because it's getting restrung. I hate this feel. I should really buy two racquets but I know I'm not good enough to warrant them and I CBA.

The day I break a string in play is the day I get a new racquet

I feel tortured at the tennis club because people wear nike and adidas at the same time constantly. They're animals.

Like an adidas tshirt and nike shorts. It's barbaric.

I went to the club with my £20 racquet from sports direct and I think I tore my arm out of its socket.

I dropped a salmon on some slick new Dunlop gear but the shorts are all too small for me somehow. Even though they're the same size as my other dunlop shorts. They fit OK but when I put two balls in the pocket they... are too tight. Really annoying.

Also got a Head Speed MP to demo.

Got a Head Prestige S to demo but I don't really like it. Feels too much like my old racquet.

Going to play DAN again for the first time in weeks. Totally collapsed when I was playing Will last night (A guy on the court next to us said "You guys are really good!" and after that I didn't win a point for about 3 games) so wish me luck in vanquishing my greatest nemesis when he hasn't even played for a month and a half.

joined the tennis society at uni mates, i went to the beginners session but i didn't know it'd already been going on for a few weeks so i've missed all the instructional stuff.

this was fine at first since the guy i was playing was at about my level and we were just trying to get a rally going really, but then the guy leading the session got us to play doubles with a couple of guys who actually knew what they were doing & i was quite embarrassed at how bad i was. i was like haha sorry i can't actually hit the ball guys ;_;

found some slowmotion videos of people serving/forehanding/backhanding on youtube so hopefully that helps

Tennis is basically impossible for the first 6 months unless you're really good so I wouldn't feel too bad. Just keep going and you'll get better.

Wrecked DAN 6-3 last week before rain stopped play.

friend who's as new to tennis as me came yesterday so we had fun occasionally hitting it properly to each other at the start of the session, then this week we were taught how to serve properly and during doubles the coach guy gave me some pointers

feel like i know what i'm doing a lot more & i'm really looking forward to next week

Meant to be picking up my new racquet tomorrow but I don't think I'll manage to play for a while because of this wretched weather.

Might switch to badminton or nigelball for winter

Lost 6-0 to will on Saturday then today lost 6-3. Would have won if I could hold serve.

My nike tennis shoes are one of the most upsetting things I own. I bought them when I was just getting started and didn't want to splash out on kit; they were the cheapest shoes in the store that fit me.

When the time comes I will buy some sick barricades or sth..

Gemini ascendent

You have a high, looping forehand hit in the old closed stance and a flat two handed backhand that resembles a clumsy golf stroke but can be driven cross court with good aggression. forehand and backhand slices are almost non existent. Short balls are often followed to the net although once you arrive there it's only the forehand volley that has any placement or power. The backhand is taken with the left hand supporting the throat and is seldom driven home. when receiving you favour the back hand side and will frequently run around a second serve to send a lob down the line. Your serve itself tends towards the slice and can be unreliable. however it is capable of a wide variety of spins and speeds which can make it difficult to read or return for a new player. Your fitness and conditioning is good though his agility could stand to be improved. In games you tend towards aggressive play, rarely trading for more than one or two strokes. Although you have build and aggressive point you often struggle to execute the final stroke and may even find yourself losing more points than you win when on the offensive.

TENNIS UPDATE!!

WEEK 1

I was the only one (besides the guy leading the session) to turn up the other week, which was lucky really since I got a one on one coaching session!! he just rallied with me, hitting it gently toward my forehand, then my backhand, and showing me how to do those things (important!!) and then afterwards rallying, he was very helpful.

i think turning up on my own and getting some 1 on 1 was ESSENTIAL really since I had been coping but didn't actually really know what I was doing in the other sessions?

WEEK 2

at this point i felt like i could hit it back to someone but still didn't really know how to serve, so this week i just spent ages doing serve after serve

WEEK 3 (today)

on the way in i slipped on what i thought was concrete but turned out to be some slippery mud, my jeans/coat/bag/t-shirt all caked with mud, no change of t-shirt either ;_;

did lots of serves, lots were bad but lots were good too, smashed a few of them and it worked !!

a girl was practicing serving next to me and it wasn't going well, which made me feel bad/like i was showing off when i was really hitting it hard and it working,, which threw me off actually because after thinking this my serves were bad for a while SMH

did some rallying, went OK. i just want to play some matches or champions/king of the court or something now, i think i'm ready to move on from only doing rallys & serve practices - wish tennis was more than once a week too

i am ready to challenge you

also i lost my ticket for the bus back but the driver let me on anyway, i think he took pity on me since it was rainy/windy and i was covered in mud & wearing shorts. what a lad.

I've been doing cardio tennis which I thought was going to be mega lame but is actually quite good. Get chances to do loads of hits + lots of agility type drills with ladders and that. Which I could probably do with because I'm clumsy and unco-ordinated as fu.

See if you can make a tennis buddy (Hey can I get your number bro???) to play with Vehk! Spring is coming! You've got to get into competition mode.

Now that the off season is over me and Dan have renewed our mighty rivalry. So of course he beats me 6-2 even though I've probably been playing 3x a week over the winter whilst he's been doing I don't know what the fuck.

I think I'll join the box league or whatever so I can actually play some "matches" maybe this will help me get over the obvious mental collapses that are plaguing my game.
