after wearing a my outwear more increasingly in infrequent showers it has helped me decided what is needed in a hood.
1) can be raised with a single flick of the wrist with no further adjustment
2) should hold its shape when down to some extent, none of this flappy/crinkly/un-even bullshit.
3) any peaks should be reinforced to avoid it flapping in my eyes.
as for ranking of 'best hood' on my outwear it goes
>goggle jacket (A* shining example)
>apecs surp (B+ solid all rounder, minor adjustments)
>north face (c good shape and easily erected but poorly executed peak which is flappy)
> no hood
>dog poo
> cp company shirt jacket (ungraded, horrible crinkly mess more like a shower cap, always keep it stowed)
