I found an old camera in my attic, it's a ricoh XR-2s. I have no clue how to work it, but i'm excited to try to take some photos with it

, what are your thoughts on dslr's for video? i've had a few years with a t1i and im looking to move up, so considering 60D or 7D. mainly for journalism/documentary photo and video. im pretty green but i have some familiarity with still photography. also looking for a cheapish stabilizer rig. thanks.

so I'm looking to pickup a close to variable zoom to (hopefully 300mm) lens for my nikon. i posted on the nikon sub and everyone said to get VR but I never really got a definitive answer about other brands that are nikon mount. I know tamron makes a 70-300 and i'm sure sigma makes something similar. is there a reason I should shoot for a 55-300 VR nikkor over these other competitors?

Hey guys,
I was thinking of getting into some film photography. any suggestions on cameras, ive been told that any nikon f type cameras where a good bet, but was looking to get some more choices. My budget is around £100-150

canon ae-1 was my first camera and one i still use today. it's built pretty sturdily and they're not too hard to find online for cheap (agree with all of iffe's points above)

if you want a rangefinder i owned a canon ql17 for a bit and loved it to bits. sadly it broke but canon produced tons of them so they shouldn't be hard to find either. also has a pretty fast lens (f1.7) which should get you some nice DOF. the glass on the ql17 is wonderful if you can find one in good condition
