half rim glasses are fucking great. I had a similar pair which smashed to smithereens and I miss them constantly.

sub-$100 recs for cool round sunglasses? I've ordered 3 pairs now, all of which have looked huge on my tiny face. something that won't make me look like a lennon wannabe is preferable. fwiw I'd say the biggest lens size my face can do is ~45 mm so something smaller would be good

As much as I love specs, sunglasses are a constant hassle for me. I never know what the right thing to do is when I live in a country with only a few weeks of serious sunlight.

Prescription sunnies as pricey, so I usually get a pair glazed with transitions so they're dual purpose. Thats expensive too though, and I much prefer having clear lenses on the whole. Thankfully now we've designed our own I'm able to grab 'the dream' and have a pair of clips ons custom made. Hopefully they'll come in the next few weeks. By no means are clip ons cheap, but they're so much better for me than the alternatives.

In the meantime I have a pair of clears and katy got some transitions made up which look good because transitions never seem to go super dark.

Got my Warby Parker testers. I'm leaning towards these ones I originally wanted (see: https://www.warbyparker.com/sunglasses/ ... lver-black). Will post pictures in the morning.

Though can anyone rec a good pair ~$150 or less that is similar to this shape? http://www.garrettleight.com/shop/hampton-sun/ w/barrels preferably, the linked pair would be idea but I don't have to cash right now and don't plan on dropping that much on sun glasses right now.

not to try to grab the attention but I tried some warby parkers recently too. I got a bunch of feedback but didn't end up choosing a pair because I was undecided but I'd like to hear what everyone thinks. or just click through for embedded images below.

Tried on Margiela-Mykitas

Also tried on the gold reflective ones which I thought would be ridiculous but looked so cool on me. Didn't get a picture of those sadly.

Does anyone have any recommendations on lens cleaners? My specs get filthy and I never know what's best other than microfibre cloths. But sometimes they just smudge stuff around and I need something better. Any ideas?

I wash my glasses every morning with soap and water. Nothing better in my opinion. I even dry off with a normal towel and they're good almost all day. Make sure you get the nose pads and arms too and they'll stay on your face better too.

I have a microfibre cloth to hand most places but at some point you're just pushing grease around rather than actually cleaning.

I just wipe them on my shirt and sigh loudly.

I tried on maybe 10-15 different sunglasses today and didn't like any of them. My face is pretty narrow. Should I get fat?

Buy giant round reflective sunglasses. At some point the glasses become so overpowering it doesn't matter what your face looks like.

I know this place is saturated with STORY but spectacles are my bag so here's a post about how they're made:

I've had the same pair of black ray ban wayfarers for five years now and every spring I look at other sunglasses to replace them with but never pull the trigger, and every summer I end up being more than happy with my wayfarers and don't think about it again until spring again.

This morning I washed my specs with soap and water, as per 's advice. I used dish soap. The glasses came out sparkling, I couldn't believe it. And they did stay on for longer on my face than when I just merely wiped them with my shirt. 10/10 would recommend.

I've never really worn sunglasses (because I wear normal glasses and never had the money to invest in prescription sunglasses) but being outdoors a ton this summer has made me start thinking about a pair.

Does anyone know how getting prescription sunglasses works say for like Ray Band or some other frames? I'd much rather find a frame I like than just going with some sunglass frame that I could get at my eye doctors place?

if you bring your prescription to a glasses store (is this the right term for it? sounds weird), they can usually fit the frames with prescription lenses.

alternatively, if you already have a frame at hand, i believe most stores will set them with new lenses for a cost.

Uhhhhhh not all opticians actually glaze specs so you need to find one that does otherwise you're just paying a middleman. With optical sun lenses you're not likely to get SUPER dark lenses.

I just picked up a pair of Carrera CA6197:

They looked redonkulous with my prescription so I had to get the lenses super slimmed down.

Really like the octagonal frames.

I'm gonna need new shades to replace my old wayfarers soon and wanna go for something more challenging. I was looking at Han Kjøbenhavn Docs today and they're surprisingly cheap, 1000dkk is only about £100! Does anyone have any experience with them? I know that they started out making eyewear so I'd expect them to be pretty nice, definitely have to try them on beforehand though, they're an unorthodox shape.
