Does anyone know how RAF SIMMONS ABIBAS fit? or or or anyone else who has owned them? If I normally wear size 10.5 in vans/nikes will I be good with a size 10.5? I tried on a pair a while back but now I don't remember what size it was :(

I'm really into the bulky high silhouette of ramones and geos, but I can't really stand the hype, and getting them for less then $500 seems to be quite a trial. Any recommendations for a similar quality and look for around 500-600$? Preferably not black.

I've thought for a while it would be cool to have close readings of all the fashion pics floating out there. I put this webpage together today, can y'all tell me what you like/dislike/feel indifferent about it? What's useful, what's not. Was thinking of doing this blog-style for many, many more of the countless insp pics floating around out there, since it's fun for me.

edit: constructive criticism is really super appreciated, insane nitpicking included!

looking to get some black jeans, found some APCs Petit Standards on ebay, does anyone have any knowledge on how they stretch out over time, kind of like raw denim? I hear you have to size down 2 for APC because of the stretching for raws.

I was looking at these http://www.ebay.com/itm/141547231760?_t ... 963.R1.TR2 more specifically, what do you mean by the ones that don't look black?

Looking to replace my beat up old Jack Purcell's and was thinking with changing it up and going with Superga, I'm an 8 in Purcell's, wasn't sure if Superga sizing requires you to size up or down at all? Was curious about Red Wing Postman sizing as well and how that compares.

Hi all,

I spend hours thinking/looking at clothing but I really don't know much about it at all. I'm more interested in the technical details - whats a good resource for a beginner to read about construction / pattern making techniques for menswear?

, I've been using Patternmaking for Menswear by Gareth Kershaw lately. Very easy to follow from measurements to the final design.

If I take an S for trim fit and M for loose fit in uniqlo fine cotton tees what am I in these Am Ap long sleeves:

http://store.americanapparel.co.uk/orga ... t_2007org#.

Anyone got any shouts on crew neck tees which fit kind of like uniqlo heat tech ones but without the heat tech?

too long for rep comment..

http://www.americanapparel.net/garments ... ID=2007org -- here's the specs for this tee. In my experience, these measurements are accurate to within <1" (2.5cm yo)(click in bottom left to switch to metric)

I have some Uniqlo Airism tees in Small and I'd say the fit is pretty close to how AA fits after it shrinks in the wash within the same size (for basic tees). AA may be just a touch slimmer. That sounds rambly, in short (lol it's not any shorter)-- A shrunken size Small tee in AA will fit a tiny bit slimmer than airism Uniqlo tee in Small (which didn't shrink at all in my experience).

Others have mentioned QC issues with AA, which is a fair judgment. I now have ~$1,800 of AA clothes (none out of pocket--time to sell some) and I'd say the best QC exists within the t-shirts and outerwear. (As far as consistency within styles across different colors and lack of sewing/construction issues). QC seems to be a little waffly on hoodies and knits (sizing can be weird within the same style, and some seams don't seem so secure).

I have the non-organic version of that tee in medium (fits me a touch slouchy), after a wash (shrunk up a bit) here are measurements: p2p: 20.25" bottom sweep: 20.25" arm length (from shoulder seam to edge of wrist):27.75" length (shoulder to bottom hem): 28.25"

Question of my own- is this comment tax deductible?

I've seen photos of Geodudes that have had their soles sanded down and topped with a custom sole protector like this:

reckon it would be feasible with CPs? My rubber soled boots have worn through recently and I'm hoping I can take some preventative measures before anything similar happens to the CPs. Could be cool to make them slightly chunkier too.

pretty straightforward, just plug the item into fromjapan from the nanamica site, though you may find it on sale elsewhere if you punch in "(item number) jp" in google. expect to pay a $25 bonus fee incl. shipping.

I've got a Silent shirt I quite like... mildly destroyed neckline, cold-dyed grey. However, it's a long sleeve, and I don't wear longsleeves much (read: ever). Is there a good way to cut it into a half/short sleeve, or will it just look bad doing that?
