The thread for flintstone from team games. Yes, Nascar counts. League of Legends only kind of counts. This thread's probably gonna end up 90% Basketball/Soccer, because of how pervasive those sports are in the US/everywhere but the US, so any and all posts about sports from faroff lands with monopoly money and figurehead leaders are well appreciated.
Beginning discussion:
- Best shoe deal yet to happen?
(James Harden)
- Neutral, bright shoes, or white shoes?
(Bright)
- Best teams by colors? (Any sport)
(Controversial opinion: Sacramento Kings)
- Worst team by colors? (Any sport)
- WHITE SOCKS OR BLACK SOCKS?!
Here's some basketball, it's my sport, the flintstone for this thread... you knew it was coming.
I get washed over with excitement watching (good teams play) basketball because I think the level of skill, personal importance, codependency, and ability for competition leaves so much potential on both ends of the court for players to capitalize on. I think because the sport requires so little "gear" performance wise, basketball has always been loosely associated with fashion and self expression, similar to the culture of skateboarding. Where it does require gear is footwear - traction and multi-directional support are super important to maneuvering around a court. Basketball fans' obsession with the shoe choices of the best players played and continues to play a huge role in the development of streetwear trends. In today's NBA, that association has grown a little more concrete - the NBA adopted a 'fashion rule' that demands all players look modern and tailored off-court -, which is both a breath of fresh air, and an incubator for some awesome images of giants in ill-advised fashion-forward pieces their stylist put in the dressing room.
