def get the melange if you can, i went to her presentation and thought it was cool but maybe not too dissimilar to other boiled wool blazers i own (howell, cdg,eg), but later saw it in full daylight and the slight colour variation in the fabric gives it a beautiful depth. it's a real one-off.

I agree with Pirx. The wu looks more interesting than the lemaire though I guess with both of these seeing them in a picture isn't really going to cut it.

Also where is that photo from?

@pirxthepilot

Yes I think this is the plum version. A dark grey with shades of purple among others (might be wrong).

Too bad I will most likely not find it...

Well for anyone wanting the Peir Wu jacket I linked above, there IS one still available in 50. Just contact Andy from Peir Wu.

Also I need your input guys.
I don't know if I need to cop more outerwear. Basically I was thinking about a parka or something warm. I'm in London so it's not the worst weather though and I still have some winter weight jackets.

At the moment I've got this suitable for the cold
- 2 long wool chester coats (dark navy dvn + dark grey almost black uniqlo x jil sander. The dvn is thicker and longer)
- Margiela navy coton mac with a standalone liner (nylon liner and not padded so more visual than efficient)
- Geller Sebastian bomber in charcoal, lightly padded so warmer but not that much

What do you think? Was thinking about a long coat which is not a chester or a mac. But actually I'm thinking that I don't need that and I should be fine with what I have already. Or maybe add a wool mac?
I've also come across the milton coat from Acne but something in the design bothers me

I edited to keep only what can actually be worn during winter.
from that list the mac is in coton (thicker side) so not the warmest.

I don't really think you should have the mindset of what you "need" if you already own 8

If you enjoy it, buy it. If you can finagle another jacket into your priorities then let that happen.

Buy what makes you happy.

Clearly I wasn't clear. When I say "need" of course I don't need anything, Eveything I buy is for my own pleasure, as an enthusiast.

My question was regarding the cold. Would you think that with the pieces I own it will be enough for the winter in London or I should brace for the cold and find something suitable for the low temperatures

just a single mid-weight wool coat would suffice for london, possibly with uniqlo heat tech vest underneath in extremis. it rarely goes below zero and if so only for a few days. i have at least 10 wool coats (many of them different iterations of the same style) and just got rid of a few because too much choice becomes confusing..
you might need something more if you plan to travel anywhere genuinely cold. used to have a swedish gf and had to buy a parka there a couple of years back when it went down to -20. i actually really like parkas though, something to do with my south london upbringing/90s hip hop roots.

cool, bike friendly (loose or stretchy crotch) pants with a DWR, a relatively slim fit, not overly slim tho. budget around $75, looking to destroy these this winter so nothing overly nice, just want to stay acceptably dry and reasonably stylish!

Seconded except for how weak their dwr is. Doubt you can get a better dwr at the price though

what options exist in the ~175 range, i'm willing to spend more as I'll probably be confined to one pair of pants for the next 4 months, I just can't deal with the cut of all the commuter stuff i've tried on, even with the stretch the crotch and thighs are unbearably tight when the waist fits, and still tight when I size up.

thinking: secondhand outlier? anyone tried proof ny stuff?

regardless thanks for feedback!

You can get commuter trews in different cuts other than 511 but there are probably better options at 175

If I could only have one pair of trousers for biking in for 4 (winter) months I would not want one pair of trousers though I would want two.

Also anything cotton+dwr will not cut it in actual rain for more than five or six minutes. Tbh I've found nothing that cuts it in actual rain other than overtrousers.

Maybe buy a pair of levil and a poncho or something.

I want to get in on this wide-leg cropped trou thing that seems to be everywhere in women's stuff right now but despite ubiquitousness I can't find ones I like. was going to jump on the bandwagon via qloxlemaire (those were cheap, too) but that sold out obv. anyone have any ideas about options?

Are they actually? I imagine their nylon blend would take DWR better than the cotton of levis commuters

Swrve also do stuff that people who bike think is good. I have some and it's decent. Again though in actual rain it will wet out in about ten minutes. Cheaper than outlier tho.

anyone know where i can get a flannel baseball jersey similar to stephanie hoff's here? it's from an inventory mag and ebbets field flannels collab a while ago

edit: @ptozzi ah yeah forgot MKI did them. their quality is pretty mediocre from experience and their sizing can be weird but they are pretty cheap
