Sam and Miles basically roam around Soho eating the same slice of cake out of a box with wooden forks and coming down on everyone's tailoring in very soft voices.

I had to go try it on. I had to.

Image

Yeah no its GOPPING. Its not great... To be honest though it has a lot of potential. If the colours popped more, if it was either more saturated or closer to the raf simons x fred perry leopard print polo, it could really be great. I really wanted to love it but i cant. I tried on a few other pieces from this collection which are all very SLP style and they were all very disapointing. Topman has this at a premium price point too and its just not worth it.

I did however find THIS:

Image

Image

I've been looking for a black topcoat similar to this sandro one - http://uk.sandro-paris.com/en/man/trenc ... 36&start=1 but havent been able to find anything vaguely close around £200 until I found this. Its not black & its zara BUT the fit is immaculate & it feels great. Its very affordable, around £100-150. Cant remember for sure. ITS NOT BLACK.

This is getting long so

all hail our cos overlords. why do I even shop anywhere else

I mean I know why it's because their construction is perpetually faintly disappointing and I hate at least 50% of their fabrics but STILL

Did they change them? Or is there a difference between packaged supima and the normal supima? Think the packaged supima ones are meant to be undershirts anyway.

Aside from that.

PSA for Middle Class Crew (You know who you are and you know you read this thread) but the John Lewis Co outerwear is pretty nice this season. Plenty classic shapes (M65, parka) with detachable down bomber jacket liners.

Also, although this:

Image

Looks wank in the photo, I tried it on and it was pretty great. In fact it really reminded me of this (no need to link because I know homeowner crew will instantly recog the house style):

Image

Except:
The John Lewis fit better (I tried on the other one in the presences of samiles and got one of those looks)
The John Lewis isn't V E N T I L E
The John Lewis one costs #225 so you'll still have change from a grand to redo the downstairs cloakroom before guests come over for Christmas. Can probably stretch to Heritage rather than standard Bristan too as long as you can get the labour done cheap enough.

gap is 40 percent off right now (isnt it always) and free shipping over 50 bucks (literally always)
gap has free returns so if you wanna get something order two sizes and return one or both to a store near u if either or both dont fit

Finally got to the Peir Wu popup store in the Bullring! Tried on coach jacket with matching trousers. Made from a "technical wool/poly blend" that felt very much like a suiting wool. The jacket is unlined and has welt pockets to go with the chest patch pockets. The trousers have an elasticated waist and drawstring. Medium rise. Very cute. Still slightly outside my price range but surely something to think about!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!

Just for the record there's pretty much no way in hell I'm buying that (bar some kind of ridic ebargs) I just thought it was "funny"

The long sleeve merino wool t-shirt you can barely see in the pic is another matter entirely.

Just visited the massive 5-story uniqlo in shanghai and got to see the lemaire stuff for the first time. almost everything was sold out except the shirt jacket that looked like a mao suit, the long-sleeve t with a pocket (which sits very low, made me feel uncomfortable), and the shawl-collared long coat, which i actually kind of liked, and it was on sale for ~110USD. too bad i don't have any room for it in my luggage unless i throw out some of my old clothes

im gonna sell almost all my OL stuff as soon as i can but shipping from china is impossible so im gonna have to wait till the summer

went back to uniqlo and tried on this cool space-age looky jacket

Image

not sure if i want to get it though. also featured is a cool fleece turtleneck which i purchased. buying uniqlo in HK is a substantial bit cheaper than on the mainland for some reason. i also tried on the selvedge jeans and (WOW!) are they comfortable. i decided to try out the free hemming service. trying to enjoy being in close proximity to a uniqlo while i can

walked into cotton on (ew) because i saw a coach jacket in the window display. coach jacket is completely obliterated in my memory because i found a pretty dope two-tone anorak in store
Image
front kangaroo pocket, side zip to make putting on/removing easier, beefy nylon cords on both sides of body to cinch, as well as semi-gathered cuffs with velcro adjusters. also there's a zip pocket on the chest, underneath the flap. + buttons at neckline are all the sort on... nylon taping? like it's one giant strip that's been stitched down after each button is run through? i forget what you call that kind of thing. oh and it's longer in the back.
but yeah! it's pretty cool and the XL looked good on me BUT it's still going for full price at local cotton ons (55USD when converted) which is just a stupid amount of money considering the fabric feel, build quality, and the way all the hardware (especially zips) feel. in short, it *looks* nice but i'd hesitate to even spend 30USD on it. maybe 20 at best? -_-

I'm extremely into Uniqlo's Haibara and Shochiku Kabuki shirts. Really cool prints, really saturated colors, and really cheap prices.

COS opening in fake canada has been a blessing. This season's footwear is top and I couldn't resist.

Image
Unisex Wrap-Over sneakers and Zip Up Chelsea Boots. tbh I feel like I can just toss all my other shoes now.

both pairs here are surprisingly nice. stitched soles, leather inner (insoles too), suede heel insert, and actual quality leather. only complaint, aside from the break-in time is that the zips on the boots feel a little cheap, but that might just be because they're lighter weight than most boot zippers I have experience with.

I was just looking at cos' "new" menswear collection and ascertained these were the only good trousers:

http://www.cosstores.com/nl/Men/New/Rel ... .1#c-22755

same as yours but in a different colour pirx?

I'd grab a pair if they went on sale.

They also have this matching blazer?

http://www.cosstores.com/nl/Men/Tailori ... .1#c-22755

Could be good? Impossible to say looking at that model shot because they've sized it down on him.

Actually these

http://www.cosstores.com/nl/Men/Trouser ... .1#c-22755

and http://www.cosstores.com/nl/Men/Trouser ... .1#c-24480 look serviceable also

Popped into cos

Trousers: OK. Cos flavour wool. Not actually elasticated they have a drawstring. Cool design feature where the front creases don't face forward because of an issue with the pleat construction. Also too long for me in a 50. Could do with cuffing them again. Or pulling then higher up my waist. They have a nice high rise so pulling them up is agreeable.

Jacket: not unlined like the website says. "wide lapels" means that it has normal size lapels thank god. Fit pretty slim in the shoulders (size 50 again). Feel like it could do with having some kind of feature but I don't know what. Maybe they should have cropped the length of the body more? Made it flare out more? Dunno. I feel the jacket is quite nice boy

Overall: it's cos. If you have enough reason to wear a suit like this you should probably have enough money to buy a real one from whoever it is that sells this kind of thing. but I don't have any reasons and I don't have any money so I'll get it if it goes on sale.
