its the last step in the instructions but its still a part of them. its not like you could argue that if you skipped step #13 "attach all 8 bolts holding the top bed of the bunk bed to the frame" and it fell on the person in the bottom bed you weren't responsible for ignoring the directions.

idk it just seems nuts to me that 6 deaths from 29 million units over the course of 27 years constitutes a serious enough problem to recall all of them.

There have been many years of furniture made that didn't need to be bolted or strapped to a wall to be stable

some of it has even been in the same sorts of spots for hundreds of years and survived things like earthquakes! How do they do it

So turns out that having no reaction to poison ivy when your skin accidentally brushes it while hiking is not the same as carrying hundred-pound sections of tree stem that crush it directly into your skin.

I also found out that while cold water helps numb an itchy poison ivy rash, hot water (scalding) feels like it's making the itch worse and scratching it at the same time in a way that is bizarrely compelling. My supervisor described it as "feels like you bout to nut".

Got my wisdom teeth out this morning and all I want is some barbecue but no solid foods for a while... might just have to puree a barbecue sandwich in a few days. has anyone here made a smoothie/blended beverage out of a sandwich or something similar before? fell backwards 5 feet on to the subway tracks last saturday whilst stretching my calfs (was pretty drunk on my way back from a club). landed with my scapulas on one of the rails and knocked the wind out of myself. my back is aching like hell and won't let me sleep but i'm very happy not to be paraplegic or dead. let me know if you have any back stretches you recommend.

got a new (1440p 144hz) monitor and 1TB SSD thanks to amazon prime day. nice.

went through a very tough break up today but I think both sides will be okay quicker than expected, which is good. never a fun thing.

Seems like as I get older, break ups get harder and more real. i guess that is expected. hope everyone has a nice week :-)
