Outlier value proposition for things that aren't the pants at this point is just straight up bad
If you ask Abe why this is $1250 usd he'll say some combo of:
* it's small volume which makes it less cost effective to produce
* neoshell is expensive
* making things in new York is very, very expensive but we insist on it
But as you've said you could get just about any acr jacket that's not insulated or leather, a nanamica gore hybrid thing, a Galvanic IS, really any hardshell trench on the market for the same price or less, and given that Outlier has middling qc (for this market segment) and doesn't work with shell materials much you could probably expect them to be better finished
