Iceland 2013

Most beautiful place I've ever visited, hands down. Peaceful, relaxing, remote, stunning scenery around every road bend - waterfalls, snowcapped mountains, sea, barren plains, volcanoes, lakes..

We spent 15 days in total driving around the ring road and staying in local hostels.

Malaysia & Singapore 2012

Wonderful country - baking hot, beautiful scenery, thick jungle, amazing food, excellent hiking and exciting cities.

We started in Kuala Lumpur and travelled off into the jungle of Taman Negara to spent a couple of nights up river there. Then Cameron Highlands where we visited tea plantations and hiked, Penang Island where we suffocated from the heat and ate the tastiest street food. Flew to Singapore and shopped/explored museums/went to the zoo (and the incredible night safari) and back to KL for relaxation.

Only had the old crap camera so most photos we took were blurry and horrible.

Up later this year is a quick shopping trip to London for me and a city trip (full week and a bit) for us to Hong Kong and Macau. Want more of that asian street food.

iceland looks amazing syek.

i dont take many pictures because my camera is a shitty point and shoot that leaves this weird halo on everything. past few years ive been to taiwan (3x) phillipines, mainland china. Going back to Japan in October. here are some random pictures

Would love to go to Japan one day - it's not as expensive as I previously thought.

We found flights from here for like €650 which is a lot less than I always expected. Can imagine doing a whole trip for about 2 grand or even quite a bit less

That's about as expensive as I thought it would be.

the yen has dropped considerably compared to other currencies. right now 1 usd is about 99 yen. this time last year it was like 75.

sf people are going crazy on rak and Y!jp auctions.

no i just took a picture of them while the guy was checking to see if they had another size.

i ended up buying sophnet boots instead. pretty similar except they have a side zip and were like $150 cheaper.

it was a village called hongcun in anhui provice (where my gf is from). Really great architecture dating from the ming dyansty. People still live there, which is cool

That sounds great. China is so dauntingly huge once you start looking away from the big cities.

Wooh, nice one. How long for? Macau as well? Got any plans?

4 nights. no firm plans yet but one of my friends lives there so i will stay with him. another friend might come along; he's still debating whether he wants to go.

plans are still pretty fluid, as i just bought tickets today. i will probably do like a day at the beach, a day walking around/shopping, one evening in macau, and then we'll see what else. probably not disneyland.

milwaukee has a lot of nice churches, not that you should actually visit them. the baseball stadium is pretty cool. i have heard the art museum is very nice but i have not been. is summerfest going on?

i am in berlin. streets smell like sausage and i bought grüne new balances to fit in better.

Is it good fun? Are you travelling on from there or just staying there?

ah you should definitely come! i'm staying here until the end of the month. life is cheap and people are very easy going. there's a great music scene as well. clubs are very different to what i've seen in france. it's like everything is made to make ugly people comfortable. there are no mirrors (even in the bathrooms!) and the dress code is super casual. the more homeless you look, the better. people are here to actually listen to the music (and dance) and not to hit on others which is very refreshing

That sounds super fun, everything I've heard of the city seems like right up my alley. Are you working there or just bumming it for a while?
