I think its probably a problem because you produce the same amount of value for the company regardless of where you are, so why should you be being paid less? I don't consider "remote work" to be much of a perk, maybe you do, but it isn't universally so. It just seems like a further alienation from labour, that you can guarantee will be exploited by le bosses.
I'm not an economist and don't understand marx so maybe someone with 300iq can weigh in, but in general, welcoming being paid less for doing the same work seems bad to me.
