I'd feel stupid in it because I'm just a half decent runner and inevitably someone would pass you one day wearing a shitty free t shirt and fila shorts from 5 years ago and even if they had no clue what gyakusou is/didn't look at your clothes it would make it all seem stupid. I'd wear a jacket casually though, I like the one smiles has with the reflective writing.

it's because the shoes are just reskins of existing models. it's like nikeID except much cheaper because they make a fat load of them. nike's overseas manufacturing infrastructure is already set up to pump that shit out.

the garms are all custom models so you pay for everything from the ground floor up, from design to pattern making, i wouldn't be surprised if they used some custom fabrics too.



looking at the endclothing drop (as always, from a distance cos none of this stuff would ever work on me), seems like jun or whoever has really narrowed in on the "running" bit this season. far less visual interest and lifestyle overlap than previous seasons. my friend has a softshell thing from 3 or so seasons ago that he wears all the time over a brooks bros button down and chinos, but there's really nothing here that's not made for running around in.

Still don't really believe that people are using gyak for everyday running gear. maybe it's just me but I have about 8 sets of everything for everyday running gear so I can go two weeks without washing it. If that was all gyak I'd be broke as f.

Maybe if I ever get a sub20 5k I'll cop an outfit so that I can blaze around the local 5k looking fly.

also i read that the gyak shorts don't have a mesh lining so i don't know how useful they actually are

i don't think many people are buying a whole new running wardrobe each season, i think most people are buying, say, a top and some shorts, or a jacket each season and then finding after a couple of years they have all gyak. i think this is acknowledged in the downsizing of the collection from 40-odd to 20-odd pieces, i don't know whether it was Nike or UC that instigated that change but presumably they weren't selling enough to justify half a dozen bits of outerwear etc

That said i don't think i've ever worn my gyak windbreaker out running
