it's because the shoes are just reskins of existing models. it's like nikeID except much cheaper because they make a fat load of them. nike's overseas manufacturing infrastructure is already set up to pump that shit out.
the garms are all custom models so you pay for everything from the ground floor up, from design to pattern making, i wouldn't be surprised if they used some custom fabrics too.
looking at the endclothing drop (as always, from a distance cos none of this stuff would ever work on me), seems like jun or whoever has really narrowed in on the "running" bit this season. far less visual interest and lifestyle overlap than previous seasons. my friend has a softshell thing from 3 or so seasons ago that he wears all the time over a brooks bros button down and chinos, but there's really nothing here that's not made for running around in.
